MacDonald Faber Ltd was originally established in 1955 as a dress maker’s supply store and notions supplier in the city’s west end. The company has remained true to its roots, still carrying huge selection of notions and supplies at their new store, macFabsews. They have evolved the main location into a boutique fabric shop as well as soft furnishings and accessories store.

Owner Dale Sonier purchased the company 24 yrs ago from the original owners and moved it to the burgeoning neighborhood of Queen West. macFab was the place to go for all the coolest fabrics, draperies and supplies.  Always striving to be ahead of the curve by evolving all the time, he moved the business to the up and coming Queen East neighborhood 11 yrs ago, transforming the business again, with the help of his partner, Patrick Kennedy, and his vision. The store has become a boutique fabric shop, giving Torontonians a place to shop all the European collections ( where in the past you needed a designer to take you into private trade showrooms) from around the world under one roof. With Patrick’s experience in furniture (owner, Soft Options Upholstery), and a keen design eye, they expanded into custom soft furnishings, focusing on sofas, chairs and drapery, while mixing in a hand picked collection of accessories and candles from trips to all the Exclusive Trade shows in Paris and other European countries.
